Reconstitution is the process of dissolving a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide back into solution. Using the right solvent and technique is critical for maintaining compound integrity.

Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is the most common reconstitution solvent for research peptides, though some compounds may require sterile water or other specific solvents.

General reconstitution steps

Always refer to compound-specific documentation for exact protocols. These are general guidelines.

  • Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening.
  • Add solvent slowly along the side of the vial, not directly onto the powder.
  • Gently swirl to dissolve. Do not shake vigorously.
  • Store reconstituted solution at 4C and use within the recommended timeframe.
